Job Description
Senior Installation Technician – LED Outdoor Lighting
Position Overview The Senior Installation Technician is responsible for the on-site installation of LED outdoor lighting projects across multiple locations. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The Senior Technician will install fixtures per designers' prints, coordinate logistics, and serve as a field representative while traveling to residential, commercial, and landscape and architectural lighting job sites.
- Install fixtures on-site to ensure quality and efficiency in LED outdoor lighting projects
- Assist the Installation Manager to manage all phases of installation including planning, logistics, layout, wiring, mounting, aiming, and system testing
- Train and mentor new field technicians on proper installation techniques, safety standards, and company protocols
- Act as the on-site liaison between project designers, clients, and installation crews
- Conduct site assessments and troubleshoot technical issues as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, electrical codes, and quality standards
- Assist with scheduling, crew assignments, and materials/equipment logistics across multiple job sites
- Prepare daily progress reports and document site conditions before, during, and after installation
- Represent the company professionally with homeowners, contractors, and partners
- Travel extensively to regional and national project sites as required
- Maintain rolling inventory and ensure the van and tools are clean and ready for work each day
- 5+ years of experience in outdoor lighting, landscape lighting, electrical work, or a related field
- Supervisory or crew leader experience desirable
- Strong technical knowledge of low-voltage LED lighting systems
- Ability to read blueprints, plans, and wiring diagrams
- Excellent technical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with frequent travel (up to 40%)
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record; background check and drug test required
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
