Federal Alarm is seeking an Experienced Alarm Technician to join our Memphis team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience installing, servicing, repairing, and inspecting low-voltage security and life-safety systems.
PRIOR ALARM/LOW-VOLTAGE TECHNICIAN EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Responsibilities:- Install, service, repair, and inspect low-voltage systems in accordance with company standards, NEC, manufacturer guidelines, and safety policies.
- Service and troubleshoot Fire Alarm, Access Control, Intrusion, and CCTV systems.
- Assist senior technicians with complex systems and provide guidance to less-experienced technicians.
- Assist the Technician Manager (TM) as needed.
- Complete required UL, FM, and other service documentation.
- Communicate job progress and provide professional customer service during installations and service calls.
- Assist with customer onboarding and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Operate job-related equipment such as bucket trucks, scissor lifts, and trenchers.
- Read and understand blueprints, drawings, plans, and job specifications.
- Maintain a professional appearance and follow all company safety requirements.
- Previous alarm, security systems, or low-voltage technician experience required.
- Knowledge of Fire Alarm, Access Control, Intrusion, and CCTV systems.
- Basic understanding of IT and networking infrastructure.
- Experience with hand and power tools.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Willingness to travel and work evenings or weekends as needed.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Willingness and ability to obtain NICET I Certification.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Ability to climb ladders and safely work from lifts and other elevated areas.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, equipment, and materials as needed.
- Ability to work overhead and in tight or confined spaces.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate or work from bucket trucks, scissor lifts, and other job-related equipment.
- Ability to perform essential job functions safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
