Moving levers or turning dials to operate cranes, electromagnets, or other moving equipment for lifting, moving, or placing loads. Inspect and help adjust parts of the crane to prevent malfunctions or damage. Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities to prevent overload. Assist to clean, lubricate, and maintain or repair mechanisms such as cables, pulleys, or grappling devices. Perform operation in a cab or remote crane to service the EAF, LMF, VTD, CCM, and Refractory areas.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:- At least 1 year experience running a crane that handles liquid steel
- Ability to work in a demanding environment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Willing to work rotating shifts, holidays, and overtime as required.
- Selected candidate must pass a depth perception test prior to assuming crane position.
- Cranes with hot metal experience.
