Electrical Apprentice

Summary
Seeking an Electrical Apprentice to support electrical installation and maintenance work in mission-critical data center environments. You’ll work alongside licensed electricians and senior technicians to help build, expand, and maintain high-availability electrical systems. Strong emphasis on safety, quality, and reliability.
- Assist with installing, routing, and securing conduit (EMT/RMC/PVC) and cable tray systems.
- Pull, label, terminate, and test conductors for power distribution and controls under supervision.
- Support installation of switch gear, panel boards, transformers, UPS systems, PDUs, RPPs, ATSs, and related data center electrical infrastructure.
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting with guidance (breakers, circuits, receptacles, lighting, grounding/bonding).
- Support pathway work for copper/fiber cabling (ladder rack, tray, J-hooks) as needed; coordinate with low-voltage teams.
- Read and work from prints, one-lines, schematics, and layout drawings; verify field conditions and report discrepancies.
- Use meters and test equipment (as permitted) to confirm continuity, voltage, and proper terminations.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas; stage materials and track materials.
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc-flash, and site safety requirements.
- Participate in pre-task planning, JSAs, and daily safety meetings.
- 0–2 years of experience in commercial/industrial electrical work (data center exposure a plus, not required).
- Basic understanding of electrical theory, tools, and jobsite safety.
- Comfortable working from ladders/lifts and in active construction environments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance.
- Experience on data center builds (critical power, UPS, generators, switch gear, structured cabling pathways).
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E concepts and LOTO.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30.
- Enrollment in or completion of an apprenticeship or trade school program.
- Experience bending conduit and working with one-line diagrams.
