WhatYou’ll Do
This role offers hands‑on troubleshooting, travel, and the opportunity to work on specialized heavy haul transportation equipment that few mechanics ever experience. In this role, you will:
- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on hydraulic trailers, multi-axle trailer systems, and specialized heavy haul equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Diagnose issues with steering systems, suspension systems, braking systems, and hydraulic components
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field and support active heavy haul transportation projects
- Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections to maximize equipment reliability
- Assist with trailer assembly, configuration, and mobilization for oversized and super load transports
- Utilize tablets, maintenance software, and service documentation to track repairs and equipment history
- Travel extensively throughout North America supporting the Heavy Haul Group and customer projects

We're looking for mechanics who are hands‑on, dependable, and thrive in challenging field environments.
Required:
- 3-5+ years of experience maintaining trailers, heavy equipment, diesel equipment, or hydraulic systems
- Strong mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
- Experience diagnosing and repairing electrical systems
- Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Mechanically inclined with a strong problem-solving mindset
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively in an over-the-road (OTR) role
- Ability to work independently while supporting a team-oriented operation
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Preferred:
- Experience with hydraulic platform trailers, dual-lane trailers, or multi-axle transport systems
- Experience supporting heavy haul, specialized transportation, or oversize load operations
- CDL Class A license
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Knowledge of axle alignments, steering systems, suspension systems, and load securement equipment
- Experience with hydraulic power units and trailer steering systems
Additional Expectations:
- Ability to work day/night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to travel extensively throughout North America
