The Role As a Enterprise Field Technician I, you will play a critical role in delivering and maintaining telecommunications network services for customers throughout the Memphis market. This is a hands-on field-based position that offers the opportunity to develop technical expertise through comprehensive training while working alongside experienced technicians. The Main Responsibilities Troubleshoots network equipment, removes/replaces defective equipment, and works with appropriate resources to isolate and ultimately restore network. Proactively identify potential problem areas to ensure integrity of the network and company.

Assists in the installation/change/decommission and testing of Next Generation technologies such as Edge Compute, Wavelength, Fiber Optic transport, Ethernet, SONET and IP network layers for all available bandwidths offered. May install and test network and customer premise equipment (CPE) including installation and delivery of end user services.

Install, activate, and maintain telecommunications network services and equipment.

Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair activities on network infrastructure.

Respond to service outages and assist with restoration activities, including fiber cut response and recovery efforts.

Conduct testing and validation of network services using company-provided tools and equipment.

Travel to customer locations and network sites to complete scheduled and emergency field work.

Deliver professional, customer-facing support while resolving service issues.

Collaborate with teammates and support on-call coverage as part of a rotating schedule.

Follow safety procedures and adapt to changing field conditions, priorities, and work environments.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required:

High School Diploma or GED or up to 2 years of relevant job experience including 1+ years network monitoring, installation, or maintenance/repair.

Entry-level technician with experience and/or knowledge of at least one of the four major technician disciplines:
Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7), TCP/IP (routers/higher-layer protocols), and Outside Plant (Fiber locating, OTDR, Mass Fusion Splicing, etc.).Ability to learn technical concepts, processes, and troubleshooting techniques through structured training

Must maintain site security and cleanliness.

Ability to work outdoors and in varying field conditions.

Must possess the ability to quickly learn corporate databases.

On-call 24x7 on a rotational basis, on stand-by, call out, dispatch, and overtime are required as dictated by the business.
