Role OverviewThis position is for a Platform Engineer supporting the Directory and Collaboration Services team, with a focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM) and enterprise platform capabilities. This role involves a combination of hands‑on engineering and platform strategy, with responsibility for Single Sign‑On (SSO), authentication systems, and platform performance across web and mobile ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities- Define and support platform capabilities for both guest‑facing and team member applications across web and mobile channels.
- Contribute to platform roadmaps, epics, and technical documentation, including stories, diagrams, and technical designs.
- Manage and optimize Ping Federate, Ping Directory, LDAP, SAML, OAuth, and OIDC services.
- Lead application onboarding for authentication frameworks and develop identity operating standards.
- Build tools and scripts to automate processes, improving system efficiency and uptime.
- Monitor platform and application performance to drive enhancements for stability, scalability, and reliability.
- Handle incident resolution, perform root cause analysis, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Product, Software Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to balance competing priorities.
- Five years of direct experience with Ping, LDAP, and directory structures.
- Three years of experience working with Ping Federate and Ping Directory or comparable identity federation and directory solutions.
- Three years of experience with a Java application server such as Web Logic, Web Sphere, Glassfish, or Apache Tomcat.
- Proficiency with Ping Federate and Ping Directory.
- Experience with identity protocols including SAML, OAuth, OIDC, and LDAP.
- Java development experience and experience coding in OGNL.
- Knowledge of web services such as REST, SOAP, and CGI.
- Familiarity with Windows, UNIX, and Active Directory operating platforms.
- Experience with the Atlassian Collaboration Stack and markup languages like XML/XHTML.
- Knowledge of MFA solutions, identity federation, and directory architecture.
