CDL A Driver

Overview

United Rentals is the world s largest equipment rental provider. We offer opportunities to deliver equipment safely and courteously, with potential for career advancement. This description covers multiple driving roles at United Rentals, including CDL-A Driver, Chauffeur Classe 1, Driver – Mobile Storage, and Driver – ROS. You will be home nightly where applicable and serve as a company ambassador with a focus on customer service.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals  policies and procedures.

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers
• Operate construction equipment, such as semi-trucks and trailers ("low boys") consistent with DOT classification CDL-A or Class 1 as applicable
• Adhere to safety requirements for equipment including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Maintain driver s logs and complete pre-trip inspections
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need
• Prepare truck, tools, and supplies for scheduled work orders (Mobile Storage role)
• Follow FMCSA rules and regulations; comply with all safety guidelines while at branch, road, or customer sites
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain records of service
• Other duties assigned as needed

• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record (or Class 1 where applicable)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years DOT-regulated commercial driving experience
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift up to 45 lbs (20 kg)
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures
• Attention to safety
• Capability for occasional overnight travel (as applicable to role)
