Overview

This description covers multiple driving roles at United Rentals, including CDL-A Driver, Chauffeur Classe 1, Driver – Mobile Storage, and Driver – ROS. You will be home nightly where applicable and serve as a company ambassador with a focus on customer service.
This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals policies and procedures.
- Drop off and pick up equipment for customers
- Operate construction equipment, such as semi-trucks and trailers ("low boys") consistent with DOT classification CDL-A or Class 1 as applicable
- Adhere to safety requirements for equipment including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Maintain driver s logs and complete pre-trip inspections
- Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need
- Prepare truck, tools, and supplies for scheduled work orders (Mobile Storage role)
- Follow FMCSA rules and regulations; comply with all safety guidelines while at branch, road, or customer sites
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain records of service
- Other duties assigned as needed
- Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record (or Class 1 where applicable)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years DOT-regulated commercial driving experience
- Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to frequently lift up to 45 lbs (20 kg)
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures
- Attention to safety
- Capability for occasional overnight travel (as applicable to role)
