We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Transportation Coordinator to manage the day-to-day operations of our vanpool services
. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth scheduling, routing, and communication between drivers, riders, and our internal team. The ideal candidate will bring experience in transportation logistics, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering top-notch service.
- Coordinate daily vanpool schedules and routes, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs.
- Monitor vehicle usage, driver assignments, and ridership trends to optimize efficiency.
- Serve as the main point of contact for vanpool drivers and riders, addressing questions, concerns, or emergencies.
- Recruit, onboard, and train new vanpool drivers in coordination with HR and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and local/state transportation laws.
- Manage trip data, reports, and maintenance schedules using transportation management software (TMS).
- Oversee vehicle inspections, service records, and preventative maintenance to ensure safety and reliability.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote vanpool programs and support ridership growth initiatives.
- Assist with incident reporting, investigation, and resolution in collaboration with management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred. - Minimum 2–3 years of experience in transportation coordination, fleet operations, or logistics.
- Knowledge of vanpool programs, commuter services, or shared mobility operations is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and transportation/fleet management software.
- Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and problem-solve in real-time.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL is a plus but not required.
- Primarily office-based with occasional travel to vanpool locations or vendor sites.
- Must be available for occasional early morning, evening, or weekend support depending on operational needs.
