Operations & Intermodal Support Specialist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support Operations and Accounting with various tasks (Accounting, Collections, Accessorials, Chassis Billing)
Enter loads accepted into customer system including all necessary data to successfully communicate shipment to rail and drayage parties

Assure appointments are made and communicated to necessary parties

Monitor shipment status to reconcile service problems and assure customers are notified of any service failures on a timely basis

Evaluate service failures in an attempt to determine reoccurring source/ problem of late delivery’sCommunicate with Dart Transit Operations concerning load status and service problems

Solicit freight for intermodal movement based on profitability and service parameters

Handle questions from internal and external customers concerning load status, transit times, pricing, and customer inquiries

Dispatch intermodal drayage contractors, negotiate load assignments

Report O, S, and D occurrences (Over, Shortage, and Damage)
Exhibit control over asset and non-asset-based equipment in intermodal service

Maintain inventory and bill records for asset-based equipment

Assist in trailer productivity and control with equipment control specialist

Assist truck operations group with telephone duties and driver assignments

Recognize and record positive performance of independent contractors

Audit contractor settlements for accuracy

Coordinate activities with Dart, Fleetline, and Dart Advantage Logistics Proactively support the organization’s goals and objectives QUALIFICATION AND

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma

The ability to multi-task, work in a fast pace environment, be detail oriented with strong written and oral skills while maintaining effective communication
