Transportation Dispatch

The Dispatcher serves as the central point of communication between drivers, customers, brokers, and internal operations teams to keep freight moving safely and efficiently.

• Monitor driver availability, hours of service, and equipment utilization.
• Coordinate and dispatch loads while maximizing route efficiency and profitability.
• Schedule pickups and deliveries and communicate load details to drivers.
• Track shipments and proactively address service issues, delays, or disruptions.
• Monitor weather, traffic, and other factors that may impact operations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between drivers, customers, brokers, shipping locations, and receiving facilities.
• Respond to urgent situations and provide timely operational support.
• Maintain accurate records, data entry, and dispatch documentation.
• Process transportation paperwork, delivery receipts, and related documentation.
• Work closely with operations personnel to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Identify operational challenges and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and service.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management software is preferred.
• Previous dispatch, logistics, transportation, or freight brokerage experience is preferred but not required.
