Position Summary
Associate Material Handler is responsible for initiating, maintaining, and compiling records associated with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, and equipment.
Essential Functions- Compare nomenclature, stock numbers and other listed information on packing slips to verify accuracy of purchase orders and shipping orders.
- Compile and perform data entry tasks to maintain inventory, purchasing, shipping and other records; uses data sources such as contracts, purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, etc.
- Support verification of inventory computations against physical count of stock and adjust errors; document discrepancies with proposed corrective action.
- Maintain manual or computerized records such as material inventory, in‑process production reports, and status of material locations.
- Support compilation of information on receipt of or disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise or supplies, and compute inventory balance, price and cost.
- Package materials and equipment ensuring shipping documentation is accurate and materials are protected; follow most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportation.
- Investigate causes of misdirected shipments, damage or shortages, and overcharges in freight cost.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ensure compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules and regulations both in the United States and internationally by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance.
- Represent the company professionally and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions.
- Basic proficiency with MS Office software, document management software and ability to navigate the Internet.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Possesses interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Typically requires 1 year of related experience.
Required to sit, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Requires various sight abilities. May be required to operate a powered industrial truck and work while elevated 25 feet or higher.
