Salary Range: $18.00 To $19.50 Annually

The Yard Attendant plays an important role in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient yard operation. This position is responsible for properly parking and storing vehicles and equipment, assisting with the loading and unloading of materials, and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.

The Yard Attendant monitors yard activities, identifies and reports safety or maintenance concerns, and communicates effectively with team members and supervisors. This role contributes to the smooth and efficient operation of the yard while providing professional service to customers, drivers, and the general public.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Ability to safely operate yard equipment.

Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, procedures, and operational needs.

Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.

Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Windows.

The primary work schedule is 4:00 PM–12:30 AM; flexibility is required based on operational needs.

Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, transportation, or similar environment.

Familiarity with workplace safety regulations and best practices.

Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to perform minor equipment maintenance.

Previous experience working with the general public or in a customer-facing role.

Experience leading, training, or supporting other team members.

Monitor and maintain the organization of the yard, ensuring vehicles and equipment are parked and stored properly.

Assist with the loading and unloading of materials while ensuring safe handling, placement, and storage.

Safely operate forklifts and other yard equipment as authorized and trained.

Conduct regular inspections of the yard to identify safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or other operational issues.

Communicate safety concerns, equipment issues, and other operational matters to team members and supervisors.

Maintain cleanliness and order throughout the yard, including the proper disposal of waste and debris.

Assist with basic equipment maintenance and report repair needs as necessary.

Help maintain accurate records or documentation related to yard activities, equipment, or materials.

Provide professional and courteous service to customers, drivers, vendors, and other members of the public.

Follow all applicable company policies, safety procedures, and operational guidelines.

Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient yard operations.
