Job Summary
This position will be responsible for welding/repairing overbar SSC’s by applying appropriate welding techniques and operating various welding devices. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
Job DescriptionResponsibilities & Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand
- Perform MIG, TIG and other types of weld based on project needs
- De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture
- Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature
- Weld SSC components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- High school diploma/GED
- Advanced knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and joint design
- High level of craftsmanship, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently on complex jobs
- Physical ability to perform demanding welding tasks safely
- 1+ year of experience operating as a commercial welder
- Current and valid certification a plus
- Experience working with power tools
- Outstanding attention to detail
