Description:

Position Summary

To provide onsite construction oversight to volunteers on new construction, rehab, home repair, and Rock the Block projects. Work independently and as part of a team on new home builds and renovation projects, both in a safe, affordable manner while complying with established processes and schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure all new homes and rehabilitations meet current building codes and Habitat standards.

Oversee site layout, framing, mechanical systems, insulation, drywall, finishes, and final inspection processes.

Identify and address repair scope changes, hidden structural issues, and code deficiencies during rehabilitation projects.

Maintain consistent quality across all projects-new builds, rehabs, and repairs-through proactive site checks and adherence to standard specifications.

Make decisions on construction operations following established processes and schedules, keeping construction leadership informed.

Direct, monitor, and participate in construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and at the expected quality level.

Work independently or collaboratively with other construction staff on assigned projects.

Engage partner families in the construction process and communicate their progress to Family Services.

Maintain quality standards through site monitoring, feedback, and on-the-job training.

Prepare punch lists and assign tasks for project completion.

Ensure daily site clean-up and secure storage of materials, tools, and equipment.

Participate in annual reviews of safety and construction manuals; recommend updates to Construction Leadership.

Enforce safety requirements, including the use of protective equipment, parental permissions for minors, and adherence to OSHA standards. Correct noncompliance immediately.

Support development efforts by cultivating relationships with individual and business donors.

Collaborate with staff and management to maintain a positive, mission-focused work culture.

Promote and enforce a strong culture of safety among all staff, volunteers, contractors, and donors.

Provide training, supervision, and evaluation for construction volunteers in a positive and supportive manner.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in home rehabilitation.

General knowledge and competencies in residential construction preferred.

Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Ability to complete required training: OSHA Competent Person and Dwelling Contractor Qualifier Certification, First Aid and CPR (all training provided by Fox Cities Habitat)

Strong analytical ability, reliability, and thoroughness.

Strong time management and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to learn and work independently in an unstructured environment and as a team player.

Ability to establish effective internal and external working relationships.

Ability to work diplomatically with others to discuss and resolve problems.

Demonstrated ability to handle multiple and changing projects, deadlines and priorities.

Outstanding interpersonal communication skills which must be effective and courteous, requiring high integrity when dealing with a broad array of backgrounds.

In certain circumstances, may need to obtain Lead Safe Renovation and Abatement Supervision training
