(FTI) is searching for a Senior Mechanical Designer for the Product Engineering team located in Menasha, WI
. The Senior Mechanical Designer will be responsible for creating mechanical parts and assemblies for products used in the renewable energy, microgrid, EV charging, crypto mining, and data center markets. The designer will support the Design Engineering team using CAD tools to design and create piece parts and multi-level assemblies, and will work with other disciplines to validate designs, gather design requirements, evaluate solutions, present concepts, and recommend final designs.
The role requires experience in material selection, component costing, fabrication and assembly processes, product verification and validation, and design trade-offs.
This position will create 2D prints and 3D models for components and assemblies, and will produce assembly documentation. Understanding drawing standards, Change Notice practices, and creation of Bills of Material is required.

Minimum Requirements- Associates Degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent
- 5+ years of product design experience
- Proficient in 2D/3D CAD design software (Inventor, CATIA, Solid Works, Creo)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience in sheet metal or heavy fabrication design, casting, machining, roto-molded components, or fiber-reinforced plastic components
- Experience in Mechanical Design and Drafting
- Experience in Bill of Materials creation and Change Notice processes
- Experience in large 3D assemblies
- 8 years of product design experience preferred
- Experience in electrical components or equipment preferred
- Experience in the design and development of electrical components preferred
Travel: 10-25%
Work Schedule:
This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday – Friday. Works a sufficient schedule to meet the expectations of the role.

Key Responsibilities- Performs mechanical designs and calculations with minimal guidance.
- Assists in the preparation of mechanical designs for power and low voltage products.
- Interacts with the Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Industrial Engineering staff regularly.
- Presents technical information during design meetings or reviews.
- Creates and updates 2D prints and 3D models for piece parts and components.
- Creates and updates complex 3D layouts of top-level and sub-level assemblies.
- Helps develop product Bill of Materials structures to allow modularity and configurability.
- Prepare Bills of Materials and Change Notices to release components and assemblies.
- Supports the creation of technical manuals for operation and maintenance of related products.
- Self-checks own work to ensure accuracy to established drawing and design specifications and standards.
- Provide technical assistance for prototype and pilot builds along with production support as needed.
- Works with suppliers to integrate various components into higher level system designs.
- Supports service, aftermarket, and installation teams as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
