EPC Assistant Project Managers are responsible for providing general management for construction projects and support the oversight of project teams.
Travel & Schedule75-100% travel. Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday; however, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 1‑2 years of experience in construction project management or a related field.
- Experience managing construction projects and supervising staff highly desirable.
- Previous experience in an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environment advantageous.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Supports the planning, organization, and staffing of construction projects.
- Aligns with the company’s safety culture and keeps this a focus for all project phases, from planning to execution to closeout.
- Ensures that projects are completed profitably, in a timely manner, and in accordance with internal and external customer expectations.
- Represents the company in a professional manner to maintain relationships with owners, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
- Visits job sites and interacts with crew, customers, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure proper job progress and to support safe behavior.
- Supports management, coordination, and scheduling of subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers.
- Responsible for material coordination related to shop drawing reviews, procurement sequencing, and management as construction activities progress to ensure proper flow of activities.
- Collaborates with project managers, preconstruction managers, estimators, engineers, project superintendents, and other internal team members on a day‑to‑day basis.
- Supports and/or leads the Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QA/QC) program established for the project.
- Engages in quality‑control inspections to ensure compliance with construction documents.
- Coordinates equipment/system shop drawings, coordination drawings, and respective inspections.
- Maintains the QA/QC log and project QA/QC plan.
- Actively manages correction of non‑compliance activities in an efficient manner.
- Supports the overall request‑for‑proposal process, including development of bid packages, collection of proposals, overview of results, and generation of subcontractor/vendor agreements for review.
- Prepares and maintains project documentation and control, including status reports and updates.
- Supports and/or updates the project schedules.
- Supports and/or leads the project closeout process, including acquiring, reviewing, and submitting all required documentation.
- Supports the overall process related to project documentation required to meet any applicable grants or incentives for a specific project.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
