Senior Mechanical Designer
The Senior Mechanical Designer will be responsible for creating mechanical parts and assemblies for products used within the renewable energy, microgrid, EV charging, crypto mining, and data center markets.
They will support the Design Engineering team using CAD tools to design and create both piece parts and multi-level assemblies, working across disciplines to validate designs.
Minimum Requirements- Education:
Associates Degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent - Experience:
Minimum 5 years of product design experience, 8 years preferred - Proficient in 2D/3D CAD design software (Inventor, CATIA, Solid Works, Creo)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience in sheet metal or heavy fabrication design, casting, machining, roto-molded components, or fiber-reinforced plastic components
- Experience in Mechanical Design and Drafting
- Experience in Bill of Material creation and Change Notice processes
- Experience in large 3D assemblies preferred
- Experience in electrical components or equipment preferred
- Experience in the design and development of electrical components preferred
- Performs mechanical designs and calculations with minimal guidance.
- Assists in the preparation of mechanical designs for power and low voltage products.
- Interacts with the Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Industrial Engineering staff on a regular basis.
- Presents technical information during design meetings or reviews.
- Creates and updates 2D prints and 3D models for piece parts components.
- Creates and updates complex 3D layouts of top-level and sub-level assemblies.
- Helps develop product Bill of Material structures to allow for modularity and configurability of products.
- Prepare Bills of Materials and prepare Change Notices to release components and assemblies.
- Supports the creation of technical manuals for operation and maintenance of related products.
Self-checks own work to ensure accuracy to established drawing and design specifications and standards. - Provide technical assistance for prototype and pilot builds along with production support as needed.
- Works with suppliers to integrate various components into higher level system designs.
- Supports service, aftermarket, and installation teams as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
10-25%
Work Schedule7 AM – 5 PM, Monday to Friday. Works a flexible schedule to meet role expectations.
