- Lead the month‑end close process, including preparation and management of journal entries, financial reports, cash flow analyses, and monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements.
- Support audit processes and Form
990 reporting by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries. - Contribute to the development and enforcement of internal controls, policies, and workflows to strengthen financial integrity.
- Serve as the ERP and accounting systems lead and super user, responsible for system maintenance, optimization, and end‑user support.
- Monitor evolving accounting guidance; conduct research on new or complex transactions and recommend actions to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist with budget and forecast development, including supporting leaders with preparation and ongoing monitoring.
- Support enterprise risk management activities, including tracking organizational risks and assisting with insurance program administration.
- Assist in developing and maintaining financial policies and procedures to manage risk and strengthen internal controls.
- Prepare external reports for Goodwill Industries International, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies, as required.
- Collaborate with internal teams and leadership to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Participate in departmental goals and projects, as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a GAAP accounting role is required.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills and the ability to work through multiple tasks simultaneously under time constraints.
- CPA experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication, customer service and attention to detail.
- At least an intermediate level of competency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and the ability to travel to other locations is required.
- Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive team member contact and frequent interruptions.
- Primary function requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, lift, carry, push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight.
- Operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination, including use of a computer keyboard, mouse, and scanner.
- Verbally communicate to exchange information.
