The Operations Finance Business Partner Lead is responsible for providing comprehensive financial support and strategic insights to the operational business groups and their project management teams, while leading and mentoring associate business partners. This role serves as a key financial partner, building trust and strong relationships to help leaders manage their projects and profit centers effectively.
Minimum Requirements- Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA, MBA or other certification is favorable but not required. - Experience:
7-10 years of experience in finance or corporate accounting, with a minimum of 3 years in a direct operations or project-focused environment, and experience with corporate accounting systems. - Travel: 5-10%.
- Work Schedule:
Typical hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, but work may be performed at any time to meet business needs.
- Supervises and mentors direct reports, understanding the business partner role fully to develop and guide them.
- Acts as a financial business partner to project management and operational leadership on complex initiatives and strategic decisions.
- Provides detailed financial analysis and insights to support business strategies, focusing on project profitability, customer analysis, and overall financial performance.
- Leads and supports the budget and forecast processes for supported operational groups to align short- and long-term business goals.
- Analyzes financial results, monitors variances, identifies trends, and recommends actions to optimize financial project performance.
- Interprets and communicates complex financial data to support decision-making, highlighting trends, causes, risks, and opportunities.
- Drives ongoing improvement and innovation in financial processes, procedures, and tools within the operations finance function.
- Serves as the primary liaison between operations and other financial departments (e.g., accounting, tax) to ensure accurate financial project alignment and resolve unique issues.
- Monitors project cash flow, including over/under billing and days sales outstanding (DSO), and performs profitability analysis for projects and customers.
- Leads special projects and provides ad hoc financial analysis as required by operational and finance leaders.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
