THE ROLE
Under the supervision of the Continuous Improvement/ Quality Manager, in conjunction with the Estimating Department, the New Product Coordinator assists in the development of building the process for incoming new parts and quoting requests. This role involves analyzing customer drawings, calculating paint requirements, preparing masking solutions, coordinating testing activities, and compiling operational metrics and reports to support business decisions and production readiness.
DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process incoming customer Requests for Quote (RFQs) by printing and reviewing email RFQs and associated drawings.
- Generate masking cut files for new parts as required to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and production processes.
- Create New Award project folders and maintain documentation for awarded parts.
- Coordinate ordering of powder coating materials and related supplies needed for new production parts.
- Prepare and coordinate weekly reporting metrics with Production teams.
- Assist with coating and paint testing activities in coordination with engineering staff.
- Maintain organized records related to quotes, awards, testing, and production preparations.
- Follow PDS standard and format previously established in formatting new PDS for production.
- Notify Quality Supervisor and/or Quality Technicians in any missing photographs needed in processing PDS.
- Follow up Production for any errors or missing information needed.
Competencies:
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, technical procedures, and/or government regulations such as blueprints, technical specifications, international standards and government standards (Federal, State, and Local).
- Demonstrate problem solving and team building skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Above average computer skills required.
- Experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Office, manufacturing package software and training production tools required.
- Public speaking.
- Strong analytical skills.
Education and/or
Experience:
Required:
2 plus years of experience in a manufacturing environment, high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred:
Industrial painting experience preferred but not required.
