Habitat for Humanity of Dane County seeks a Community Outreach Coordinator to deepen engagement around affordable home ownership. This role plans and executes outreach strategies, builds relationships with community partners, and coordinates events and volunteer activities that connect families, donors, and supporters to Habitat's mission. The Coordinator represents Habitat at community meetings, faith and civic events, and public forums, delivering presentations and sharing impact stories.
Working in a mission-driven, collaborative environment, this position partners closely with volunteers, staff, and families, tracks outreach data, and helps strengthen community support for safe, affordable housing across Dane County.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement community outreach plans to support Habitat's affordable home ownership mission in Dane County
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, donors, and neighborhood groups
- Coordinate, promote, and staff community events, information sessions, and volunteer activities
- Deliver presentations to community organizations, faith groups, and local businesses
- Recruit, orient, and support volunteers for outreach and program activities
- Collaborate with marketing staff to create outreach materials and social media content
- Collect and track outreach data, contacts, and event attendance for reporting and improvement
- Support homeowner engagement and education initiatives in collaboration with program staff
- Represent Habitat for Humanity at fairs, meetings, and public forums as an ambassador of the mission
- Assist with fundraising campaigns and special initiatives through community engagement
