The Merchandise Operations Coordinator is the business partner to the category manager. Must collaborate and communicate as a team on a daily and weekly basis to ensure alignment on the execution of the business. This position is accountable for executing promotions, data management, SKU ingestions, and administrative merchandising tasks in support of the business strategy and other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions- Responsible for communicating across many different business functions in support of the category manager and the strategic vision for the business.
- Responsible for assisting the category manager in gathering all important information to complete fully integrated project memos.
- Responsible for creating signage requests, proofing signage, flyers, e‑mails, and TV spots based on category manager direction.
- Responsible for collecting information to properly enter vendor deals into the Lotus Notes system to communicate vendor funding to the merchandise financial planning team.
- Assists in planogram sets and take down as needed by the category manager within the Store Support Center.
- Responsible for communicating what SKUs are moving to clearance in the future to inventory management before items go to discontinued.
- Accountable for the proper data management within the Retail Management System (RMS) and pricing entries to execute the vision.
- Responsible for researching and resolving costing and pricing discrepancies in partnership with the category manager as they arise.
- Accountable for setting up complex promotions in the retail pricing management system and testing the complex promotions.
- Monitor, execute, and communicate all deadlines established by category managers and merchandise management.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of prior retail experience and data entry experience preferred.
- Must be proficient with the Microsoft Suite of applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS), Oracle Retail Price Management System (RPM), Store Inventory Management (SIM), and Oracle SQL Developer preferred.
