Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Architectural & Construction Collaboration
- Collaborate with architects and builders during the pre-design and schematic phases of projects
- Contribute to space planning, floor plans, and architectural layouts
- Develop and detail interior architectural elements including millwork, cabinetry, ceiling details, and builtins
- Review and interpret construction drawings and architectural plans
- Communicate design intent to builders and contractors during construction
- Participate in construction meetings and site visits
- Lead the interior design vision for residential projects from concept through completion
- Develop furniture layouts and plans for each space
- Collaborate with the internal team on pricing, procurement, and installation planning
- Create design presentations including boards, drawings, and material palettes
- Select and specify:
- Furniture
- Lighting
- Textiles
- Materials and finishes
- Manage projects through all phases including:
- Pre-design
- Schematic design
- Design development
- Construction documentation
- Construction administration
- Serve as the primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate with design assistants, pricing coordinators, and expeditors
- Manage timelines, budgets, and project deliverables
- Attend project installations to ensure the design plan is executed properly
- Work closely with the team and stylist during installation to ensure furniture placement aligns with the design intent
- Travel for project installations as needed
- 2–4 year degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field
- 5+ years of residential interior design experience
- Strong understanding of residential construction and architectural planning
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and architectural plans
- Experience developing furniture plans and interior material palettes
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
- AutoCAD
- Canva
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Hybrid work environment (Monday–Thursday in office, Friday remote opportunity)
