JOB SUMMARY

Coordinates Adult Enrichment, Adults with Disabilities, Family Programs, and provides support for Adults 55+ programming for District 197 Community Education, including development, marketing, and management.

HOURS

40 hours a week. Some flexibility in daily schedule. Occasional nights or weekends.

WORK YEAR

12 months

POSITION REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
  • Develop, implement, administer, and evaluate Adult Enrichment, Family, and Adult with Disabilities programs for District 197
  • Develop marketing materials, including catalogs, to increase participation in programs
  • Take photos and create social media content and posts to promote Community Education programs.
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate program staff and instructors
  • Establish course fees and instructor salaries and contracts
  • Develop and monitor program budgets
  • Supervise and evaluate program staff
  • Build partnerships and develop collaborative programs with diverse community groups, district staff, and community organizations to increase the participation of underserved groups in programs
  • Complete reports on participation and programming as required
  • Manage the financial operations of the adult programs, prepare vendor payments, and deposits
  • Meet with Community Education managers in other districts to share ideas, resources, and concerns
  • Serve as a member of the Community Education leadership team
  • Provide periodic reports to the Community Education Director, Advisory Council, and School Boards on program areas as requested
  • Work in collaboration and provide support to the Adults 55+ program
  • Partner with the Adults 55+ Coordinator to deliver seamless programming
  • Ability to work occasional nights or weekends
  • Participate in appropriate professional activities
  • Provide training to employees and volunteers around the area of program practices or expertise
  • Perform other general duties as assigned

  • Background in adult or Community Education programming preferred

  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • Strong marketing and promotional skills using social media and print materials

  • Proficient in desktop publishing skills, Google suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must have the ability and proven record of reporting to work on a regular and punctual basis
