Effective immediately the Child Nutrition Office will accept applications for the Kitchen Assistant/Cashier position. The salary range for this position is $18.68 – $21.39/hr, based on the  salary schedule between ISD #197 and SEIU Local #284.

Location: Friendly Hills Middle School

Hours: 10:15am - 2:00pm (3.75 hours per day)

• Assist in forecasting daily meal needs and request products accordingly from the Production kitchen.
• Assist with preparing and serving meals for students, staff and special functions.
• Effectively operate the Point of Sale System, handle money and prepare bank deposits.
• Ensure each reimbursable meal sold meets USDA requirements.
• Perform a variety of kitchen cleaning duties.
• Assist with setting up the serving line and serve meals according to meal patterns.
• Project a positive & professional image of themselves, their school and the Child Nutrition Dept. to all customers, staff and parents.

• High School Degree or equivalent.
• Ability to project a positive, professional image.
• Ability to work as a team.
• Willingness to perform duties as assigned.
