The Dump Truck Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently hauling asphalt, aggregates, and other construction materials to and from job sites, plants, and storage facilities. This role requires strict adherence to DOT regulations, company safety policies, and delivery schedules to support asphalt paving and construction operations.

- Operate a dump truck to transport asphalt, aggregates, and related materials between plant, job sites, and designated locations.
- Perform pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle in compliance with DOT and company requirements.
- Safely load and unload materials, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure loads to prevent spills.
- Deliver asphalt in a timely manner to paving crews, coordinating with foremen and plant operators to meet production schedules.
- Maintain communication with dispatch for load assignments, delivery instructions, and schedule updates.
- Maneuver truck safely in tight job site conditions, including backing into pavers or dumping into hoppers.
- Keep accurate driver logs, delivery tickets, and inspection reports.
- Promptly report any accidents, injuries, or mechanical faults to management.
- Communicate clearly with Truck Dispatch, Foremen and Supervisors.
- Stay in line with your load time; do not pass or fall behind.
- Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of the truck as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures, including PPE use, speed limits, and traffic control requirements on job sites.
- Assist with other duties as assigned to support asphalt paving and plant operations.
Education and Experience
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Class A or B, with air brakes endorsement (as required).
- Clean driving record in accordance with company and insurance standards.
- Minimum 1–2 years of commercial driving experience; prior dump truck or construction hauling experience preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
- Ability to operate manual and/or automatic transmissions.
- Experience working in construction or asphalt paving environments preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions, including heat and dust.
- High school education or GED equivalent.
- Strong team player.
