Head Coach For Women's Cross Country
Mt. San Jacinto College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Coach for Women's Cross Country to lead and develop a competitive program within the CCCAA (California Community College Athletic Association). The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of the program, including coaching, recruiting, compliance, and athlete development, while promoting academic success and sportsmanship. Qualified applications will be referred to deans and department chairs, who will contact candidates for interviews as needs arise. This position is in the University Professional and Technical Employees CWA Local 9119 AFL-CIO Union. COACHING STIPEND:
There is up to a $10,000 stipend for the coaching salary.
Coaching & Program Development:
- Plan and conduct effective training sessions, practices, and competitions to develop student-athletes.
- Implement conditioning programs to enhance endurance, strength, and injury prevention.
- Foster a positive, competitive, and inclusive team environment that supports student-athletes' academic and athletic growth.
- Develop race strategies and provide in-depth feedback to athletes.
Recruitment & Student-Athlete Development:
- Identify, evaluate, and recruit student-athletes who meet academic and athletic standards.
- Develop relationships with high school coaches, club programs, and local running communities to recruit top talent.
- Monitor student-athletes' academic progress and assist with retention and transfer opportunities.
Compliance & Program Administration:
- Ensure compliance with CCCAA, IEAC, and MSJC rules regarding eligibility, recruitment, and competition.
- Coordinate scheduling, travel arrangements, and race-day logistics for competitions.
- Manage the program budget, including fundraising efforts, materials and supplies purchasing and cloth purchasing.
- Work collaboratively with the Athletic Department, support staff, and campus administration.
Public Relations & Community Engagement:
- Serve as a positive representative of MSJC Athletics within the college and local community.
- Promote the program through media, social media, and campus outreach.
- Engage in fundraising efforts and community service activities to support program development.
