About the Role
AN2 is seeking an experienced part-time/full-time Accountant / Sr. Accountant to be responsible for supporting month-end and quarter-end close processes for a public company and responsible for accounts payable: entering, verifying vendor bills and purchase order and vendor management.
Responsibilities
- Support public-company financial close activities, specifically journal entries (including, but not limited to, cash, investments, prepaids, credit card, G&A, R&D and clinical trial accruals), balance sheet reconciliations, balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analyses, and financial reporting activities.
- Full service accounts payable: ensure precision in processing accounts payable (AP) transactions, including accurate coding, thorough support documentation, and obtaining necessary internal approvals.
- Vendor Management:
Oversee vendor onboarding and maintenance. - Vendor Payment Runs:
Manage bi-weekly vendor payment runs, including the setup of electronic payments for timely and secure transactions. - Vendor Query Resolution:
Address vendor queries, issues, and concerns promptly and professionally, fostering positive communication and resolution. - Purchase Order Assistance:
Assist with purchase order management, coding, issuance, and matching to facilitate accurate tracking and financial reporting. - Corporate Credit Card Management:
Manage corporate credit cards, including reviewing and recording transactions and performing monthly reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records. - Perform other related duties as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to contribute to the overall success of the finance team and organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in finance and accounting including significant experience within public biotechnology companies a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands‑on AP experience.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting, prepaids, and P&L analysis.
- Proficiency in Net Suite and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Proven ability to independently own AP and close responsibilities, and able to prioritize, investigate discrepancies, and exercise sound judgment.
- A positive attitude, personal integrity, discretion and candor a must; adaptability and flexibility required.
- Experience with SOX 404(a) compliance.
- Exceptional attention to detail:
Attention to detail in reviewing vendor bills, coding transactions, and ensuring accuracy in all accounting and accounts payable processes. - Excellent organizational skills:
Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a small, but fast‑paced remote environment. - High ethical standards:
Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards in handling sensitive financial information. - Strong written and verbal communication skills:

Capacity to follow instructions accurately, work independently or collaboratively, and adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
Pay range and compensation package
AN2 expects the annual base salary for this position to be $90,000-$120,000. The final salary and job title will be based on the candidate’s education, qualifications, credentials, and the type and length of relevant experience.
