We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join the Advanced Engineering team. This team designs and implements novel manufacturing equipment used in the production of medical devices. The role focuses on the design, development, qualification, and deployment of automated equipment and vision inspection systems in a regulated manufacturing environment.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to design cutting‑edge equipment while contributing to the production of life‑saving medical devices.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the design and development of vision systems for in‑process inspection of manufactured components.
- Design and develop fixtures and automated manufacturing equipment using Solid Works.
- Configure and implement Cognex vision hardware and software solutions.
- Assemble, test, and debug prototypes and production equipment.
- Develop and manage project plans for automated equipment initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to develop and deploy equipment solutions.
- Prepare detailed equipment drawings, design specifications, and documentation
. - Write and execute equipment qualification protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ) and acceptance testing procedures.
- Specify and procure equipment and components, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
- Design robust equipment and processes to support high-quality, high-volume manufacturing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing equipment design, build, and commissioning.
- Hands‑on experience with Cognex vision systems (hardware and software).
- Strong proficiency in Solid Works
, including modeling and fabrication drawings for assemblies and machined components. - Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and tolerance analysis.
- Familiarity with fasteners, 3D printing, and prototype assembly.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional project teams
. - Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Experience testing equipment and authoring equipment documentation, including qualification and maintenance procedures.
- Experience in the medical device industry or another regulated manufacturing environment.
- Experience designing electrical controls systems
, specifying electrical components, and integrating electromechanical systems.
