Overview
Mechanical/Structural Engineer (Ph.D.). We are currently seeking a Mechanical/Structural Engineer for the Mechanical Engineering Practice in Menlo Park, CA. In this role, you will be expected to grow in the key aspects of consulting, including technical expertise and effective spoken and written communications, to develop a consulting practice serving clients both within and outside the firm. A key requisite is prominent experience with uncertainty quantification and probabilistic structural mechanics.

- Communicating effectively with other engineers, managers, clients, and administrative reports
- Conducting structural mechanics analyses
- Developing and executing computational analyses (e.g., finite element analysis)
- Collaborating across engineering disciplines, including materials science and metallurgical engineering
- Creating written reports and presentations
- Performing field inspections
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Structural/Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics and/or similar fields
- Specialized knowledge in solid mechanics, structural mechanics, uncertainty quantification/probabilistic mechanics, computational mechanics, and fracture mechanics
- Working knowledge of computational platforms, such as commercial finite element environments and associated numerical analysis tools
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent project ownership and initiative characteristics
- Ability to work independently and within project teams with a strong desire to contribute
- Potential for technical and project management leadership, as well as a desire to seek new client relationships to grow a client base
- Must be able to convey technical information to individuals in engineering, business, legal and related industries

Our consultants are rewarded for technical and business contributions with a total compensation plan that includes base salary, bonuses, and a 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary. The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities as assessed during the interview process.
