Overview
Project Engineer – Facilities Engineering (Infrastructure) at Stanford Health Care, Menlo Park & Palo Alto campuses. The role maintains safe, reliable, and future‑ready hospital infrastructure by coordinating capital and infrastructure projects from planning through commissioning. The position is onsite and supports a 24/7 campus environment.
Responsibilities- Support planning, design reviews, site walks, and commissioning for multiple capital and infrastructure upgrade projects.
- Coordinate with contractors, end users, and Facilities on shutdowns and work in active, occupied spaces.
- Maintain effective communication with vendors, stakeholders and end users.
- Own details: meeting minutes, construction reports, schedules, and document control across PM platforms and SharePoint.
- Verify and file any project‑related documentation.
- Meet regularly with all parties to track the status of construction projects and prepare meeting agendas and minutes.
- Scan, distribute, and file documents including designs, drawings, specifications, estimates, and correspondence.
- Provide initial review of pay applications, change orders, and other incoming construction documents.
- Perform other project engineering and project management duties as assigned.
• 2+ years of related experience in construction, design, or construction management (or education equivalency).
• 3–5 years of experience in construction, engineering, or mechanical systems (healthcare or other 24/7 environments) preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Knowledge of project management tools, CAD, CAFM, estimating, cost control, scheduling, construction administration, quality control, and specific writing and place planning.
- Familiarity with healthcare delivery, architecture, building design process, and construction.
- Understanding of building codes, standards, contract administration, and sustainability.
- Knowledge of OSHPD forms, RFI, PCO, submittal, invoicing processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, document control, and communication skills.
- Ability to read drawings and schematics; plan, prioritize, and complete tasks within deadlines.
Preferred: PMP or CAPM certification.
Benefits & CompensationBase pay scale: $55.85 – $74.00 per hour. Salary determined by internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
