Lead the design and development of advanced power conversion systems from concept to production. This role owns power electronics architecture for new product development in a fast-paced environment where innovation and rapid problem-solving are the norm.
What You’ll Do- Design and implement control algorithms for DC/DC, AC/DC, and DC/AC conversion circuitry
- Develop offline and online simulation models to validate control algorithms early in the design cycle
- Partner with firmware engineers on control algorithm implementation
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve architectural challenges early and lab/test/validation challenges late, on fast timelines
- Work alongside hardware and test engineers on prototype validation
- Travel as needed to support development and validation efforts
- MS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- 7+ years of experience in power electronics design, analysis, test, and troubleshooting
- 3+ years as a power electronics technical lead
- Deep experience with power topologies including LLC, DAB, and multi-level converters, plus single- and three-phase PFC and associated soft-switching techniques
- Proficiency modeling power converter designs in PSIM, MATLAB, and SPICE
- Experience implementing digital control designs on microcontrollers, DSPs, and/or FPGAs
- Strong background in advanced modulation strategies for loss minimization, including ZVS/ZCS soft-switching
- Strong feedback loop controller design experience, including stability and performance optimization
- Experience planning and executing HW/FW verification to confirm designs meet spec
- Expertise in power circuit analysis: worst-case circuit analysis, FMECA, and reliability
- Hands‑on experience with oscilloscopes, RLC and impedance analyzers, spectrum analyzers, electronic AC/DC loads, and signal/power generators
- Ability to analyze and optimize designs for cost
- A self‑starter who thrives managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced global design and manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to move from theoretical design to hands‑on implementation
- Track record of evaluating emerging technologies and applying them in practical ways
- Strong analytical, detail‑oriented mindset with excellent written and verbal communication skills
