Job Responsibilities :
- Close monthly GAAP and tax basis accounting for assigned commercial real estate and management/fund entities
- Ensure monthly books are reconciled and closed on an accurate and timely basis
- Ensure monthly operating activity is in line with budget, investigate and understand significant variances 2
- Work with Controller and/or Assistant Controller to prepare annual financial statements which will be audited by company's external auditors
- Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations
- Assist in the interim, quarters and year-end audit or review process, which will include providing requisite PBCs to company's external auditors
- Maintain and ensure internal controls are operating effectively
- Calculates and records appropriate depreciation and amortization of fixed assets, tenant improvements, and leasing commissions
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
- Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
- 2-5 years of real estate or financial accounting experience or general ledger responsibilities for partnership entities in a private equity/investment firm is preferred
- Knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience with Yardi Voyager enterprise accounting system preferred
- Strong MS computer skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required
