Bell & Associates has been engaged to identify an IT Manager for a hospitality organization in Menlo Park
. This is a highly visible, hands-on role — you’ll be the primary point of contact for all customer/guest-related IT issues
, while also supporting internal teams and partnering closely with the AV team to ensure conferences and events run smoothly.
Hospitality systems experience is not required. If you bring strong IT fundamentals, a service-first mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot from the endpoint to the server room, we can teach you the hotel-specific platforms (including Opera PMS and common POS systems).
Responsibilities- Serve as the front-line IT point of contact for all guest/customer-facing technology issues
- Support the AV team with conference and event setup (room tech, connectivity, troubleshooting, live support as needed)
- Ensure Wi-Fi performance and reliability across guest areas, event spaces, and back-of-house
- Build, deploy, and configure computers from scratch (imaging, setup, standard software installs, access/permissions, testing)
- Understand and support what’s happening “behind the scenes” — including server room fundamentals
, network/infrastructure health, and how software integrates with hardware - Troubleshoot across endpoints, network, and systems — and partner with vendors/MSPs for escalations and improvements
- Maintain documentation, inventory/assets, and baseline security/access controls
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or related
- Strong hands-on experience in IT operations/support in an on-site environment (hospitality not required)
- Ability to troubleshoot end-to-end:
hardware, operating systems, network connectivity, and core infrastructure - Solid working knowledge of networking concepts (DHCP/DNS, VLANs, wireless access points, switching basics)
- Comfort operating around server/network environments (doesn’t need to be a server engineer — but you understand what you’re looking at and how it ties together)
- Calm, customer-oriented communication style — able to support guests and internal teams under time pressure
- Opera Property Management System (PMS)
- Hotel POS platforms
- Prior hospitality/event/conference tech exposure
- High ownership and visibility — you’re the person people rely on to keep the experience seamless
- Variety: guest-facing support, infrastructure troubleshooting, event technology, and vendor coordination
- Great fit for someone who likes being hands-on and solving problems in real time
