Research Scientist, Research Assistant/Associate
Position Overview
The Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource (SSRL), a Directorate of the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, is seeking a Research Intern to participate in the analysis of data on materials ranging from Li‑ion batteries to polymer systems with techniques such as transmission x‑ray microscopy (TXM), small‑angle scattering, and x‑ray diffraction. The internship involves segmenting images and analyzing x‑ray absorption data, working with scientists and engineers developing a new transmission x‑ray microscope.
The position requires proficiency and the ability to work under limited supervision. The internship can start in mid‑summer, with the exact start date and duration dependent on availability, and will last up to 8 weeks (maximum 980 hours in six consecutive months).

Job Details: This is an hourly, non‑benefits‑eligible temporary‑nonexempt student position (50% full‑time equivalent or more). Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years old, currently enrolled in an educational program or recently graduated, and have U.S. work authorization.
Salary: $26.17 – $28.33 per hour. Pay will be determined based on the scope and responsibilities of the position and other factors.
