As a key member of Analytical Development group, you will be responsible for working closely with biology and fermentation teams to develop, implement and support analytical solutions to guide metabolic engineering and scale-up process by evaluation of metabolites from engineered yeast strains in microtiter plates up to multi‑L tank scale. This includes refining and executing analytical operations to handle large sample numbers in timely manner, as well as developing specialized methods across HPLC, UPLC, LC‑MS, and GC‑MS instruments.
A successful candidate will be very organized and detail-oriented, self-driven and possess leadership qualities to deliver high value solutions and processes in fast‑paced environment.
- Perform analytical method development and optimization for quantification of small molecules using UPLC-UV, LC-MS and GC-MS instruments from sample preparation to data analysis and interpretation
- Collaborate with scientists in biology and fermentation to understand analytical needs, deliver feedback on feasibility, timelines, and resource requirements of their requests, and deliver maximum value by developing appropriate method and process in house or outsourcing to external laboratories.
- Manage, coach, and mentor a small team of Analytical Chemists, direct daily work and task, conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide constructive feedback.
- Develop and implement processes to quickly and unambiguously address issues with unexpected analytical results, timely troubleshoot and resolve analytical method related…
