Abode, one of the largest nonprofits working to end homelessness in the Bay Area, is seeking a Resident Service Coordinator for our Willow Housing program in Menlo Park, CA.
About the RoleThe Resident Services Coordinator is responsible for the provision of housing stabilization services to households who are homeless and/or low income. The Coordinator provides counseling, referrals, individualized housing plans, and coordinates supportive services.

- Develop a community calendar of educational, recreational, and civic engagement activities and events.
- Build relationships with local service providers and community agencies and maintain positive neighborhood relations.
- Collaborate with property management to foster a sense of ownership for residents and build community.
- Assist residents in retaining housing and maximizing independence by providing linkages to community services such as crisis intervention, rehab, income support, benefits acquisition, employment assistance, primary physical and mental health, substance recovery, and family involvement.
- Provide referrals for assessment/treatment services for developmental, learning disabilities, behavior problems, school readiness, family violence, and exposure to drug or alcohol abuse.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed and requested by property management or program participants.
- Maintain comprehensive case files and prepare and submit all programmatic reports as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Sociology, or related field or equivalent experience.
- 1 year of case management experience providing services to homeless or low‑income individuals and/or families.
- Valid California driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, clean DMV record, and ownership of a personal vehicle.
- Ability to drive and transport participants when required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.
- Experience using data collection software for documentation and reporting.
- Initiative, flexibility, self‑motivation, and capacity to respond effectively in stressful situations.
- Experience with community networking and resource building.
- Basic knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and platforms.
- Ability to learn and use required mobile devices and business‑related applications.
- Outstanding communication skills and high emotional intelligence, cultural humility, with a proven track record of building effective relationships with a wide variety of contacts.
