Job Role – Full-Stack (L2 Tech Lead Onshore)

Location:

Bay Area, CA/Seattle, WA Technical Leadership

  • Architecture and Design:
    Partner with client stakeholders to define technical architecture that supports scalable, secure, and high-performing delivery across globally distributed teams. Help create and maintain design documents that clearly communicate technical direction to stakeholders globally.
  • Code Quality:
    Ensure coding standards are met, lead code reviews, and promote engineering best practices to ensure consistency, maintainability, and shared accountability in a distributed delivery model.
  • Technical Decisions:
    Drive critical decisions on frameworks, libraries, and technologies by balancing innovation, business priorities, stakeholder expectations, and implementation realities across regions as necessary.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues, coordinating timely resolution across stakeholders and development teams while maintaining momentum and clarity.
  • Diff Review:
    Lead and own the diff review process within the immediate team.
Team & Operational Management
  • Team Metrics:
    Monitor and report on delivery and engineering metrics, in conjunction with the domain head to provide transparency to stakeholders and support continuous improvement.
  • E.g. Deployment Frequency, Work in Progress (WIP), Cycle Time, Defect Density, etc.
  • Sprint Leadership:
    Lead sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and other operational activities in a way that supports collaboration, accountability, and smooth execution across time zones.
  • Manage Sprint Board (when applicable):
    Oversee sprint board hygiene, task movement, backlog readiness, and equitable task distribution to maintain visibility and execution discipline across the distributed team.
  • Communication Standards:
    Ensure the team documents work and comments consistently in accordance with client and internal expectations so stakeholders and delivery teams have clear, traceable context.
  • Planning and Estimation:
    Partner with stakeholders globally to break down features, clarify scope, and estimate timelines with development teams in India.
  • Risk Management:

    In conjunction with the domain head, help identify risks, dependencies, and blockers early, communicate them clearly across stakeholder and engineering groups, and drive mitigation or escalation as needed.
  • Mentoring:
    Support junior and mid-level engineers through code pairing, technical guidance, while fostering strong collaboration habits in a globally distributed environment.
  • Cross-Team

    Collaboration:

    Act as the primary bridge between stakeholders in the US, Singapore, and the UK and development teams in India, ensuring shared understanding of priorities, requirements, timelines, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    Facilitate clear, timely, and structured communication between business stakeholders and engineering teams, translating business goals into actionable technical plans and relaying progress, risks, feedback, and decisions back to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge Sharing:
    Drive documentation, code comments, handovers, and cross-training activities that improve continuity, reduce dependency on individuals, and support effective collaboration across regions.
Other Responsibilities
  • Hands-on Coding:
    Contribute to implementation, especially for critical features, prototypes, or complex technical areas, while balancing leadership and coordination responsibilities.
  • Dev Ops and CI/CD:
    Support smooth deployments, monitor system health, and reinforce automated testing and release discipline to enable reliable delivery across distributed teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8+ years of programming experience in a relevant language or 4+ years of experience + PhD
  • Track record of setting technical direction for a team, driving consensus and successful cross-functional partnerships
  • Hands-on experience with managing enterprise scale platform development, integrations, and on-call production support
  • Experience building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design and unit testing techniques, especially in an enterprise environment
  • Experience improving quality through thoughtful code reviews, appropriate testing, proper rollout, monitoring, and proactive changes
