—we'd love to hear from you. We are currently hiring for our WMI Flex Cell Operator position.

We're also seeking experienced candidates for our Finish Grinder position.

Pay range: $30.39 - $31.18 per/hr

WMI Flex Cell Operator

Brief Overview:

This job classification will require employees to perform all production welding, machining, and inspection requirements necessary to manufacture targeted product processed within or outside of the cell. The WMI Cell Operator position requires operators to work as team members and participate in asset team meetings to ensure safety, reduce waste, streamline work flows, and continually improve processes. The WMI Cell Operator position requires employees to be multi-skilled, proficient at all operations, and to rotate job responsibilities.

The Weld, Machine, and Inspection (WMI) Cell Operator sets up and operates belt sander, centerless O.D. grinder, production welding, heat treat furnace, automatic and C.N.C. style lathe, liquid penetrant inspection, and parts marking equipment to fabricate parts to required tolerances derived from customer supplied blueprints. WMI Cell Operator performs related material handling, external gauging, machine lubrication, cleaning and organization of the work area in accordance with Company continuous improvement initiatives.

The WMI Cell Operator position requires knowledge of metal turning procedures, characteristics of cutting tools, centerless grinding procedures, level II liquid penetrant, visual inspection and packaging methods, mathematical abilities and knowledge of specific material characteristics. This job classification will require employees to perform all production welding, machining, and inspection requirements necessary to manufacture targeted product processed within or outside of the cell.

The WMI Cell Operator position requires operators to work as team members and participate in asset team meetings to ensure safety, reduce waste, streamline work flows, and continually improve processes.

Finisher

Brief Overview:

Sets up and operates grinding machine to grind various parts to the required specifications. Cleans, adjusts and lubricates machine as required.

  • Operates standard machine shop grinders to grind parts to predetermined tolerances specified on machine shop procedure computer files.

    Operates and maintains various machine loading devices.

    Obtains procedure information from the computer file system.

    Verifies revision numbers on the procedure to that contained on the product card.
  • When performing finish O.D. grinding operations, obtains job procedure information from the computer files.

    Obtains the O.D. master in the gage room.

    Sets up and adjusts indicator gages to measure O.D. sizes and roundness.

    Sets up data collection devices as needed.

    Arranges for Floor Inspector or a designee to verify the proper gage set-up.

    Sets up size compensator to indicate wheel adjustments.
  • Obtains parts pusher and header from storage area and returns to storage when finished.

    Positions parts on work rest blade and processes parts through the grinder.

    Arranges first piece inspection by a Floor Inspector or designee. Monitors dimensional accuracy of work-in-process. Makes adjustments as necessary.

    Records sizes into data collection device for S.P.C. purposes, as necessary.

    Records S.P.C. information on product cards.
  • Dresses grinding wheels as needed to assure proper surface finish.
  • Obtains tools, devices, and new wheels.

    Removes used grinding wheel from the machine and disposes of it properly.

    Performs "ring test" on new replacement wheel.

    Installs the new wheel on the machine and replaces all components and guards.
