The primary function of this position is to staff the 24-hour Security Operations Center (SOC). The SOC handles emergency and non-emergency communications from security staff, hospital staff, law enforcement, visitors, and other emergency services via radio, telephone, computer, email, camera, in-person, or via any other medium. Vital functions of this position include: customer service, multi-line phone management, Computer-aided Dispatch (CAD) documentation, and effective, timely communication.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Prior security, dispatcher or other relevant experience or education is required. Computer-aided Dispatch system experience, preferred. Prior dispatch experience in mid-sized department /emergency services is preferred.
EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent is required. College is preferred.
TrainingICS training, TERT certification, IAHSS Certification, HAM radio operator Training may be site specific.
Special SkillsAbility to work in a fast paced demanding environment. Ability to multi-task. Excellent customer service skills. Computer literate.
