Lead Specialist, Training

The Lead Training Specialist organizes, executes, evaluates, and sustains training for site operations within the Taste, Texture & Health - Wisconsin hub: the Ingredient Solutions locations of Germantown-McCormick and Waukesha, and the Taste locations of Germantown-Mequon and Menomonee Falls. The Lead Training Specialist is involved in the coordination and onboarding of new employees, developing training programs for technical competency development, and promoting, teaching, and driving IMPACT continuous improvement practice training, people capability training, and performance improvement workshops.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Display & promote positive SHE behaviors at all times in accordance with site policies and dsm-firmenich SHE behavior expectations.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct new employee onboarding and training facilitation, along with periodic competency assessments according to dsm-firmenich Operations Management System standards.
  • Develop training materials and programs for: job content knowledge for operators & operations support teams. Foundational training in IMPACT, Lean Six-Sigma (LSS) and Teamwork principles across all sites.
  • Improve & sustain overall training management system: facilitate/create area specific 30-60-90 day training plans. Re-defining operator job positions and associated training requirements to make training plans relevant to their actual activities. Develop updated training modules, including content-based quizzes for training. Utilize and train on digital tools. Coach and support trainers through training-of-the-trainer training and ongoing coaching. Provides regular updates to the site management team for training system management vision and direction alignment with site directives.
  • Organize and execute, supports or leads continuous improvement activities when not on a production assignment.
  • Supports updates of production documentation (Standard Operating Procedures [SOP], Job Safety Analyses [JSA], One Point Lessons [OPL], Out-of-control Action Plans [OCAP], etc.).
  • Fills the role of IMPACT site trainer.
  • Participates in candidate interviews and completes site tours as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

You Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six-Sigma principles and IMPACT best practices.
  • 5 years or more experience preferred in manufacturing operations within a strong SHE culture and systems.
  • Proficiency in MS applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to gather insights from people at various levels of the organization to identify needs.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work independently and as part of a team to accomplish goals.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and flexible schedule as needed.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
  • Lean Six-Sigma Yellow belt or ability to complete certification in a year required, Lean Six-Sigma Green belt preferred.

The salary scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant's job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. The salary range is $85,000 - $100,000.
