What You'll Do
  • PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT:
  • Demonstrates a commitment to professionalism by arriving on time and following lead teacher directions.
  • Maintains confidentiality and respectful relationships with colleagues and families.
  • Adheres to center policies and procedures, and participates in professional development opportunities.
  • Communicates effectively with staff, parents, and families.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace.
  • Follows safety and health protocols to ensure a safe environment for children.
  • Provides a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor and attitude, even in challenging situations.
  • RELATIONSHIP WITH CHILDREN:
  • Fosters a sense of belonging and connection with each child, using positive language and interactions.
  • Shows respect and empathy towards children's feelings and needs.
  • Encourages positive behavior and communication skills in children.
  • Supports children's emotional and social development.
  • Maintains a clean and hygienic environment for children.
  • SKILLS WORKING IN CLASSROOM:
  • Assists the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and daily routines.
  • Provides individualized support and instruction to children.
  • Prepares and maintains a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Supervises children during activities and transitions.
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation.
  • Supports the lead teacher in preparing for daily activities and lessons.
  • Assists with snack, meal, nap, and diapering responsibilities.
  • Maintains a clean and organized classroom.
  • SKILLS COLLABORATING WITH PARENTS AND FAMILIES:
  • Communicates effectively with parents and families about their child's daily experiences.
  • Listens to and responds to parent concerns and questions.
  • Provides accurate and timely information about the child's daily activities.
  • Fosters a positive and collaborative relationship with parents and families.
  • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
  • Participates in regular staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Pursues ongoing education and training to enhance professional growth.
  • Stays current on center policies and procedures.
  • Seeks opportunities for professional growth and development.

Childcare experience preferred;
Introduction to the Childcare Profession, Skills and Strategies for the Child Care Teacher, Fundamentals of Infant/Toddler Care, Abusive Head Trauma Training, Mandated Reporter Training, CPR/AED

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Speak and hear communications.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds.
  • May be needed to work hours outside of the typical workday.
  • Organizational skills for the generation of detailed reports, documentation, etc.
