Position Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer supports the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, workflows, and production systems. This role focuses on improving efficiency, reducing waste, enhancing quality, and ensuring safe, reliable operations. The engineer collaborates with cross‑functional teams to analyze data, solve problems, implement Lean initiatives, and support day‑to‑day manufacturing performance. The engineer also partners with engineering and operations to support new product implementation (NPI) and ensure seamless production readiness for new and updated products.

Functions Process Improvement & Optimization
  • Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement solutions using Lean, Six Sigma, and engineering principles to reduce waste and improve throughput.
  • Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and capacity assessments to support production planning.
  • Monitor and maintain process documentation, standard work, and work instructions.
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to drive decision‑making.
  • Build reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate trends, performance metrics, and improvement opportunities.
  • Present findings and recommendations to operations leadership and cross‑functional teams.
Project Support & Execution
  • Support implementation of new equipment, tooling, or process upgrades.
  • Lead small‑to‑medium projects focused on efficiency, quality, or safety improvement.
  • Collaborate with quality, engineering, supply chain, and production teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Assist with root‑cause analysis and corrective action development (5Y, Fishbone, DMAIC, etc.).
Manufacturing Support
  • Provide daily support to operations by troubleshooting process issues.
  • Maintain close communication with supervisors, technicians, and operators to understand production needs.
  • Support training and rollout of new procedures or process changes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
New Product Implementation
  • Participate in early design reviews to ensure manufacturability, cost efficiency, and safety considerations are incorporated.
  • Prepare production areas by ensuring equipment, tools, fixtures, and workstations are ready for launch.
  • Define and document Standard Work, Work Instructions, and process flow diagrams.
  • Create process plans, routings, and time standards (MTM/TMOD, Time Studies).
  • Support line design, layout optimization, and ergonomic assessments for new production workflows.
  • Partner with product engineering, quality, supply chain, operations, and program management to ensure seamless product introduction.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Applied Science (BSIE, BSME, BSEE, Physics, Computer Science) or equivalent.
  • Excellent MS Office skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within groups.
  • Ability to synthesize a solution when design inputs are vague or incomplete.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Flexibility to ever‑changing priorities and environments.
  • Comfortable with multitasking situations.
  • Self‑less, can‑do attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Skill with common 3D CAD software packages (Creo, Solid Works, NX, etc.).
  • Experience with marine and/or RV products.
  • Familiarity with ABYC, NMMA, or other relevant requirements.
  • Experience with new product introduction cycles.
  • Shop/bench fabrication and/or assembly skills.
Working Conditions
  • Noise and dust: environment may be noisy and dusty due to the movement of goods and machinery.
  • Temperature variations: may experience varying temperatures.
Physical Demands
  • Lifting and moving heavy objects, standing for long periods, and walking extensively.
  • Irregular schedules: may need to work irregular hours, including weekends, to meet operational demands.
Safety Protocols

Must adhere to and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $62,800 – $90,800 annually (actual base pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, business need, and location).
