We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support the new product development and sustaining efforts of the Navico Group team. Activities will include creating and maintaining documentation along with supporting production efforts for the Navico Group Power Solutions team. This position is based out of Menomonee Falls, WI. They will be tasked with testing in a lab environment, assisting the Engineering Team with prototype development, and new product design.

• Execute product validation testing with detailed test reporting
• Communicate test data and issues with engineering team by utilizing the test request system
• Build prototypes according to engineering data, utilizing electrical and mechanical principles
• Design and fabricate test fixtures
• Provide technical assistance and resolution when product issues arise
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement proper repair solutions
• General shop and lab upkeep
• Plan, coordinate, and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
• Contribute to decision‑making that affects corporate strategy
• This internship will be a full‑time commitment from May to August

• Field failure diagnostics of a variety of electrical products.
• New product development testing

Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Basic machine shop experience (vertical mill, lathe, general shop tools)
• Must be able to quickly adapt to changing directives in a competitive environment
• Experience working in lab environment (environmental chamber, electrical, mechanical tests) is a plus
• Solidworks and/or Creo 3D modeling experience through coursework, design projects, or internships
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and accept feedback
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Experience in the manufacturing industry
• Experience with the creation of work instructions
• Familiarity with marine and/or RV products in professional or recreational environment
• Experience with new product development cycles
• Shop/bench fabrication and/or assembly skills
