Plant Controller

Our client is an organization in the greater Milwaukee area looking for a Controller. This company is looking for someone with 7+ years of accounting experience, cost accounting experience and highly organized and detailed-oriented.

The salary range for this position is $100k-150k. +bonus.

The Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & Close Process

• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Analyze financial results and provide insights to leadership on key trends and variances
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts

Accounting Operations

• Manage daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting estimates
• Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled and properly supported
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation

Internal Controls & Compliance

• Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies
• Coordinate and lead external audits and prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
• Support regulatory and tax filings in collaboration with external advisors

Budgeting & Financial Planning Support

• Assist with the development of annual budgets and forecasts
• Monitor actual performance against budget and explain variances
• Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making

Team Leadership

• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff
• Assign responsibilities and review work to ensure accuracy and efficiency

The Controller will possess the following:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field required
• 7+ years of accounting experience
• Variant configuration costing experience required.
• Strong manufacturing industry experience.
• CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead and change processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
