Position Overview
As part of the Navico Group Supply Chain Sourcing team, you will lead the Mechanical team and portfolio at one of our locations (Milwaukee – WI, Mettawa – IL, Ensenada – MX, Lowell – MI, Tulsa – OK, Juarez – MX). The role will set strategic objectives for Mechanical commodities globally and implement local execution plans to achieve supply continuity at optimal cost.
EssentialFunctions
- Category Strategy & Development
Define and implement long‑term strategies for the mechanical portfolio (plastics, metals, packaging, hardware, etc.). Conduct global and regional market analysis, monitor industry trends, lead cost‑down teams, and support tariff mitigation and geopolitical risk initiatives. - Supplier & Vendor Management
Negotiate contracts, pricing, warranties, and service agreements with OEMs and suppliers. Develop joint business plans, cultivate partnerships, conduct supplier visits, and evaluate performance against cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability KPIs. - Supplier Warranty & Service Support
Oversee escalated warranty claims, negotiate extended warranty terms, recover costs from vendors, and support resolution of service bulletins, recalls, and field service campaigns. - Compliance & Industry Certifications
Ensure all purchased materials comply with international certifications (NMMA, ABYC, CE, ISO, EPA, EU Stage V, IMO Annex VI, CARB, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, NMEA
2000). Manage certification records, audits, and regulatory changes affecting the Navico Group. - Leadership & Collaboration
Manage a team of analysts/managers, collaborate with supply‑chain, finance, legal, and operations functions, represent the category in senior leadership discussions, track category KPIs, and coach team members for talent development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8–12 years of supply‑chain/procurement experience with mechanical categories.
- Proficiency in international supply‑chain management, trade compliance, and inventory optimization.
- Experience managing supplier warranty programs and negotiating cost recovery.
- Advanced skills in ERP, category‑management software, and analytics (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder‑management, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple cross‑functional projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strategic thinker with strong business and technical acumen.
- Deep understanding of industry certifications and regulatory compliance.
- Data‑driven, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- High adaptability and resilience in managing complex global supply chains.
- Office environment, stationary 50% of the time.
- Use of computer and office equipment.
- Occasional day/overnight domestic and international travel (up to 10%).
- Annual base pay range: $103,200 – $145,500 (varies by experience, geography, and business needs).
