A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FLEET MANAGERYou aren't just managing "units"; you are ensuring that every production crew, from Menomonee Falls to our furthest service area, has the reliable tools they need to be successful. You take ownership of the entire lifecycle of our vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are properly cared for through regular use and meticulous maintenance. By extending the productive service life of our assets, you aren't just saving the company money – you're creating a safe, high-performing environment for the people who rely on that equipment to do their jobs.
You are a hands‑on manager who partners closely with a Lead Mechanic to set the standard for what "high-quality work" looks like. While your home base begins in Menomonee Falls (with a potential future eye toward Muskego), your influence extends across our entire service area. You lead a team of mechanics – some right there in the shop with you and others stationed throughout the region – fostering a culture of consistency and pride.
You are the mentor who ensures that even the most remote team member feels connected to our mission and supported in their craft.
In this role, your "toolbox" includes many helpful digital systems such as custom‑developed asset management software, vehicle and equipment GPS trackers and beacons, and various camera‑based systems. You use these platforms to do more than just log hours; you use them to identify trends, monitor performance metrics, and communicate seamlessly across departments. You are the type of leader who sees a recurring mechanical issue and doesn't just fix the machine – you create the training content to fix the root cause.
By equipping our team with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed, you transition the department from a "repair shop" to a proactive center of excellence.
You are a key player in our company's long‑term success. Through strong project planning and cross‑departmental leadership, you drive the outcomes that keep us competitive. You're the one who finds ways to shorten average repair times, reduce the percentage of non‑functional equipment, and – perhaps most importantly – curb the costs of preventable damage. Overall, your work will have a significant impact on our employees' and the company's success.
Qualifications- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Motivated with a desire to learn
