Job Summary
Sets up and operates a packaging or production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Fills, secures, and labels containers according to company and/or customer specifications. Verifies goods packaged against package invoices. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Documents inventory number and weight and organizes packages.
May make minor repairs to packaging equipment. Works under moderate supervision. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.
- Operation of high-volume industrial bottling and packaging equipment, including clearing minor jams and malfunctions.
- Load, monitor, count and sort materials, and ensure quality product is being produced in a timely manner on the basic to moderately complex machines including: drop packing, bliss box, labeling machines, mixing and SIG machines.
- Complete timely quality checks and record results in computer or tablet.
- With limited supervision, assist maintenance in production changeovers where needed.
- Remove defective products or equipment from line and/or reposition materials to continue efficient production flow.
- Review bill of materials to make sure correct production components are being used in production.
- Assist maintenance technicians with basic tasks as requested.
- Follow strict quality, safety, and operational procedures.
- Prepare packaging materials and load product into boxes if required.
- Cross train others on basic to moderately complex machines as deemed necessary.
- Fill in for other roles as qualified or as assigned.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED
Minimum
Work Experience:
A minimum of 1 year working in a related manufacturing or logistics area, preferably with automated machinery.

- Must be able to follow instructions and respond to management direction.
- Ability to maintain consistent attendance.
- Ability to move and operate safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to wear appropriate personal protection equipment including safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, mask, etc as necessary per job function.
- Ability to read, write, communicate, and understand English.
- Must be able to work well with others in a team environment.
- Flexibility in working hours as needed by the operations.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness.
- Ability to have regular and predictable attendance.
- Ability to work co-operatively with co-workers.
Represents the appropriate physical requirements of the job in the course of the work.
