The Mold Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of molds used in the manufacturing process. The Mold Maintenance Technician position involves conducting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and performing repairs to optimize mold performance and minimize downtime. The Mold Maintenance Technician works closely with production and engineering teams to support efficient and reliable manufacturing operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWorks collaboratively across the organization while embracing the embodiment of Scan-Pac’s family values.
Mold Maintenance and Repair- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on molds to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Inspect molds for signs of wear, damage, or malfunction and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain mold components to prevent corrosion and ensure smooth operation.
- Identify and diagnose issues related to mold performance, such as sticking, flashing, or dimensional inaccuracies.
- Develop and implement solutions to address mold-related problems, working collaboratively with production and engineering teams.
- Assist in the setup and changeover of molds for different production runs, ensuring proper alignment and configuration.
- Perform mold inspections and testing after changeovers to verify functionality and quality.
- Maintain accurate records of mold maintenance activities, including maintenance schedules, repairs performed, and parts replaced.
- Document troubleshooting procedures and solutions for future reference and continuous improvement.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while performing mold maintenance activities, ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and others.
- Comply with regulatory requirements and company policies related to mold maintenance and safety.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in mold maintenance practices.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement design changes or modifications aimed at enhancing mold performance and reliability.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Previous experience (typically 2-5 years) in mold maintenance or related mechanical maintenance roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with knowledge of mold components and functions.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments for maintenance and repair tasks.
Welding or Fabrication experience required.
Familiarity with mold materials, coatings, and surface treatments.
Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and precision in workmanship.
Ability to effectively communicate (read, write, and speak) in English.
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, demonstrated mechanical aptitude, 6S, Lean Manufacturing, automation, and a good technical background.
Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
